Gloo Stick or Glue Tape?

Gloo Stick or Glue Tape?

Posted by Yushing Foo on

Hello everyone, on today’s blog we have the one stationery item that everyone needs in their stationery pouch: ADHESIVES! Or Glue!

Adhesives plays such a important part in our crafting, journaling or planning projects and its often a stationery item that we rarely mention.

Whether you prefer a stick, sticky dots, or glue tape, we’re here today to talk about the benefits of each type.

KOKUYO GLOO STICKS

Firstly, let’s talk about Kokuyo Gloo sticks. These award-winning little sticks have many great attributes. They come in various forms to suit your crafting needs.

The orange stick, known as "Wrinkle Free,"  is made with a low-water formula to ensure pristine results without your paper losing its crisp appearance. It is ideal for use on thin or more delicate paper, such as Tomoe River Paper.

The Blue Gloo — or as I like to call it, the "vanishing potion" — shows its color on the paper to help you see exactly where you’ve applied the glue. But after a few moments, the color disappears! This is available in a white or black body to suit your personal aesthetics.

Finally, the Grey Gloo stick, the Original, ensures a tight seal between the two surfaces, giving a more permanent effect. You have to be sure of your placement when using the grey one!

GLUE TAPES

Next, glue tapes. These are revolutionary. They’re perfect for on the go — no loose caps, no sticky fingers and they do the job: allowing two paper items to stick together. The only aspect I find bothersome is replacing the glue tape. I always carry extra, but everything has to run out at some point 😅.

Tombow PiT Glue Tape Air touch system allows for light pulling to the end. Unlike other glue tape systems, the Air touch allows for light, continuous tape transfer to the end. No more struggling or broken adhesions. Once you are done, refill is available!

Kokuyo Raku Hari Double Sided Tape double coated for extra strong adhesion. 10mm wide and 10m long, perfect for thicker papers or gift wrapping for stronger bond. Refill is available.

Whether you are a glue stick or a glue tape person, I think you will need both. They all serve a purpose and they all come in handy in different crafty situations.
